Traditional Wushu
Wushu is a term that is used to refer to Chinese martial arts, which are also commonly referred to as “Kung Fu.” China’s martial arts history goes back millennia, and the styles we teach can also trace their history back several centuries. Currently we are teaching Huo Style Bajiquan.
Huo Style Bajiquan
Bajiquan traces it’s history back to Wu Zhong (1712-1802), who learned it from a traveling Monk and his student. Our particular branch comes from one of “God Spear” Li Shuwen’s first student, Huo Diange. Huo was the teacher of the Last Emperor of China, Puyi. His nephew, Huo Qingyun, was Puyi’s bodyguard. The style has the nickname, “bodyguard style” due to its use by Mao Zedong' and Chiang Kai-Shek’s bodyguards. Bajiquan is a direct, no-nonsense style, with practical movements.
